Daily photo challenge

So, I've been stalking this one blog lately and I've decided to try one of her monthly photo a day challenges.  She puts up a list of photos to take - one per day for the month.  Photo a Day - July  I don't post comments on her blog or share my photos with her or her readers, but I will just put the, here.  I'm really bad at remembering to do it daily, so I already have some catching up to do.  Maybe that will be my project for this weekend.


2.  Busy - My kitchen keeps me oh so busy with three boys in the house.  I can never quite keep it clean or organized.  Sometimes it drives me insane, but I do the best I can with a little help from the guys.


4.  Fun - We had lots of fun on the 4th of July.  Shorty and I were the first ones in the pool and spent some time just floating and chatting about everything his ever so curious mind could think of.


5.  On the Floor - Yes, this is what the floor of my scrap room looks like 90% of the time.   But it's where I go to relax, recharge, plan and get creative.


6.  Chair - this is "the" chair.  The one that everyone wants to sit in and the one everyone dreads trying to stand up from.  It really is hard to get out of this chair.  LOL!  


7.  Garden - UGH!  I have the black thumb of death and Brandon is no better.  This wisteria vine (I think that's what it is) is the only thing we've been able to keep alive for the past 8 years.  Well, other than the bushes and grass.  Brandon's pretty good at growing a really pretty lawn.  Too bad the flower beds look like barren waste land.


As you can see, I'm about 8 days short.  Hope to catch up - I'd like to actually make time to keep up with this one.

Snow Flakes in TX

We woke up this morning to fluffy, white snow everywhere. The biggest snowflakes I've ever seen were falling from the heavens. It is just beautiful out there. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my house?? This shot totally cracks me up - Joshua on the receiving end of a massive snow ball from his big brother!! Joshua stuffing what's left of our broken flag pole... Just playing it cool until he could sneak up behind Bryan with that snowball. Not entirely sure, but I think he was taste testing that snow... Blogging for Scrapbookers

I'm taking my first online class from http://www.shimelle.com/ . Although, I've been blogging since the end of 2006, I think there is definite room for improvement. I'm not the most consistent person in the world (and boy, do I wish that was the case) and I'm not the most articulate either... There are a few things I hope to get out of this class: Some tips and tricks on blog design (I have already benefited in this department) Some friendly reminders pertaining to writing techniques I would love for this to help me develop some habits - like maybe posting more frequently I want to develop my blog into, not only a place to keep family and friends up to date, but a place I can go back to in order to jog my not-so-spectacular-memory. I love to scrapbook, but I find myself forgetting the details so often. First Day of 1st Grade

Bryan has been in school for 3 weeks now. He is having a great time in first grade and doing pretty well. He is loving the fact that he is a "veteran" student and knows his way around and what is expected of him. First Grade comes with a LOT of homework and tests and we've all come to realize that it is going to require a lot more effort on all of our parts to keep him ahead of the pack. They have mixed up what were the two Kinder. classes, so some of his friends are in his class and some are from the other K class from last year. It's great since he will get to know a lot more kids in his year.
