100 Days of Happiness - Day 14

Image
This was this morning.  I love that I get about 30 minutes to just hang out and chat with B before taking him to school.  I was wrapping my brain around my work schedule this morning when I looked over and saw him laying there, wrapped in a blanket and reading the Hammacher catalog.  It crossed my mind that I am so fortunate and grateful for these stolen minutes.

This makes me happy.  B's parents gave us a fruit of the month gift for Christmas and we love it.  It's so much fun getting that package every month and trying the yummy fruit.

He is so happy about being in baseball now that he is excited to practice any chance he gets. It's contagious!  I've played catch with him, his dad has and so has his big brother!

This is a sight that makes me super happy!  We've been so busy over the years with scouts and sunday school and making sure B is doing OK in school, that J hasn't had the same opportunities to try team sports that his brother did.  That ends now.  We signed him up for baseball and Sunday was his first practice.  He was nervous about never having played, but he LOVED it!  He also did pretty well.  I'm looking forward to seeing him improve.

Not a great pic, but I love it.  It makes me happy that Brandon loves Amber so much.  He did not want a dog, was mad that I got her and refused to do anything with or for her when she first came home.  She knew it too and worked really hard to win him over.  He totally loves her now and they spend what down time we have right here in this chair together.

Not that I'm happy that J hurt himself or has a hole through his lip, but I am happy that I don't panic in these situations.  I am always able to calm him, clean him up and evaluate.  He was fine an hour later.  It is pretty crazy how much a person's face and head bleed though...

Pizza night!!  What made this night even more happy, was that J and I made the pizza ourselves and it turned out pretty yummy!  Can you see the J he made with cheese?  LOL!

100 Days of Happiness - Day 7

What I have finally admitted to myself is that it is almost impossible for me to do anything on a daily basis.  I'm doing my best to take a photo for this project, but uploading them here is obviously harder for me to do.  I'm OK with that though.  The time I have to upload them is usually being spent with my family - which I would rather be doing. This photo is of the bags I use to deliver Meals on Wheels.  I get to do that once or twice a month and it always makes me happy.

I love when my boys show affection towards one another.  B was sick today so when his little brother got home, he wanted to hug him and rub his back to make him feel better. B got a big kick out of it, so I'd say it worked.

100 Days of Happiness - Day 5

I'm running behind on posting my happy photos.  My day 5 photo is one of my favorite things to do - walking with my baby and sweet puppy.

Lists, glorious lists!  I love lists.  They have an odd calming effect and I make lists for everything.  Daily list, weekly lists, grocery lists, book lists... you name it.  Today it made me very happy to start my weekly list.  :)

100 Days of Happiness - Day 3

This may seem like a silly subject for what makes me happy - especially since I usually hate video games.  There was always one game I enjoyed playing with my dad and then later with Brandon as well.  It was Resident Evil and I loved shooting those zombies!  Well, I haven't really wanted to play it since the big panic attack.  Actually I've avoided a lot of things that I enjoy over the last 15 months.  No scary movies, no loud noises, no flashing lights and no scary games.  I've been slowly overcoming my fears of anxiety attacks by forcing myself into uncomfortable situations.  Today, I was happy to sit down and shoot zombies with my husband with absolutely no fear of anxiety - just fun!

This CD contributed to my second day of happiness.  The boys and I went to the grocery store and B wanted to take the Explorer.  He put this CD on and we were trying to guess the movie that each song was from.  They were all theme songs from great movies.  Some of them were from Indiana Jones, Superman, Star Wars, Back to the Future and Jaws.  We were cracking up the whole time.  A great moment of total happiness!

The Zoo in Spring

B's friend, L, came to visit us for part of Spring Break this year.  I took tons of pictures to add to all the other pics that I haven't touched since probably some time last year.  It's time to catch up, so I'm going to work backwards.  We went to the zoo.  Seems like we haven't been for quite some time and as usual, we had lots of fun.  B and L were awesome for riding on the carousel with J. I have this photo in a scrapbook somewhere of the two of them sitting at this exact spot when they were itty bitty. We think this pretty girl might be expecting soon. We fed the giraffes and I'm pretty sure this was the highlight of the trip for me. L said the monorail was the highlight of the trip for him. And we take these shot on EVERY trip to the zoo. Holding the birds was J's fave part. All of the snake
