First Day of Second Grade

Image
The morning started off very well. The boys were pretty easy to get up and get dressed. Bryan seemed very laid back and not nervous at all. Joshua knew something was going on and was just excited in general. As we got closer to school Bryan became quiet and very still. He put on a brave face though and strode right into the school with us trailing in his wake. He knew right where his desk was and proceeded to seat himself, never turning his head this way or that; he looked straight ahead of him at all times. We kissed him goodbye and I prayed all the way to the daycare (to drop Joshua off) that Bryan would like his knew school, do well and that we had made the right decision by taking him out of St. Jo's. Joshua wasn't so easy. He was excited to see everyone that he missed at daycare, but as soon as he saw that I was leaving he put his little face in his little hands and proceeded to cry - aka: rip Mommy's heart out and stop on it. I kissed him and handed him to his favorit

The fates worked out well today. When we got home from the doctor's office, Bryan had a package waiting for him. He has been in full on panic mode over not getting his new packpack and lunch box yet when school starts on Monday. It made him very happy, even with a sore noggin'!

Life with Boys...

Image
I can't really say that accidents that occur in life are more frequent when you have boys... After all, I was the most accident prone kid myself. The good news is that, like their mommy, my boys may have had puntures, insect bites, bumps, bruises and staples, but at least they haven't broken anything yet. :) Bryan's pediatrician insisted that we bring him to her instead of the E.R (thank God!). She loves my boys so much and I couldn't ask for a better doctor for my family. She calls Bryan "My angel" and felt so bad for him. She explained the concept of staples in his head and even explained that it was a special Doctor's stapler, not a normal one (as in don't try this at home kids). She was so patient, even by the millionth time Bryan asked: "Excuse me, Dr. Sadler? Is this going to hurt?" He was very brave though and didn't cry at all! Another experience checked off the list...

Bryan is a wiz at Legos - He bought this Bionicle lego guy with his precious tooth fairy money and had it put together in just about 15 minutes!
