Catching Up

Hey! Since when do I have a life?? I've been pretty busy lately and have busy plans for the rest of the month. Thank goodness this has been a long weekend. I had a great time at http://www.scrapvillage.com/ taking part in their Virtual Crop. I so didn't get as many pages done as I wanted, but I had soooo much fun chatting with everyone! I even got to host the Journaling Challenges, which was so awesome - I really enjoyed learning about these wonderful women! I want to continue working on the challenges next weekend - they are always so inspiring. This is my favorite page from this weekend:




Today I'm gonna work on assembling Project 365 from last year and maybe even even do the first couple of weeks of 2010, so I don't get behind on Project Life as well. Here are the daily pics from this weekend...

This would be Fort Bryan. He claims that it was to keep him safe from the "soda ghost" he claims lives upstairs in our house. He has supposedly heard the sound of a soda can being opened 3 times while upstairs alone. LOL! Sunday, Jan17
And this would be part of my cleaning process for my scrap room - gather everything in my basket and go around putting it all away. Monday, Jan18

It's been a nice weekend. Back to work tomorrow nice and refreshed. Looking forward to next weekend's crop at the Barn with a couple of friends after lunch with another friend.

Of course, first I need focus on work, cub scouts, pinewood derby races and all the homework in between. :)

I'm so excited that your favorite LO from the weekend came from my game!
I think filling a basket as the first step of post-scrap clean-up is a great idea!! Might make the task less daunting!

I enjoyed the game a lot Becca! I like to put these little strips of paper in a vase with various ideas in them - if I'm stumped I just pull one out and do what it says on my LO.

The basket does make it way easier to clean up.

Snow Flakes in TX

We woke up this morning to fluffy, white snow everywhere. The biggest snowflakes I've ever seen were falling from the heavens. It is just beautiful out there. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my house?? This shot totally cracks me up - Joshua on the receiving end of a massive snow ball from his big brother!! Joshua stuffing what's left of our broken flag pole... Just playing it cool until he could sneak up behind Bryan with that snowball. Not entirely sure, but I think he was taste testing that snow... Blogging for Scrapbookers

I'm taking my first online class from http://www.shimelle.com/ . Although, I've been blogging since the end of 2006, I think there is definite room for improvement. I'm not the most consistent person in the world (and boy, do I wish that was the case) and I'm not the most articulate either... There are a few things I hope to get out of this class: Some tips and tricks on blog design (I have already benefited in this department) Some friendly reminders pertaining to writing techniques I would love for this to help me develop some habits - like maybe posting more frequently I want to develop my blog into, not only a place to keep family and friends up to date, but a place I can go back to in order to jog my not-so-spectacular-memory. I love to scrapbook, but I find myself forgetting the details so often. First Day of 1st Grade

Bryan has been in school for 3 weeks now. He is having a great time in first grade and doing pretty well. He is loving the fact that he is a "veteran" student and knows his way around and what is expected of him. First Grade comes with a LOT of homework and tests and we've all come to realize that it is going to require a lot more effort on all of our parts to keep him ahead of the pack. They have mixed up what were the two Kinder. classes, so some of his friends are in his class and some are from the other K class from last year. It's great since he will get to know a lot more kids in his year.
