Christmas Eve

I figured that I should share some Christmas photos before it gets to be June... These are my favorite pics from Christmas Eve. I have to say - the only reason the boring, really horribly composed and rushed pic of the cookies the boys left out for Santa is one of my faves is because of a commercial that was running on TV around Christmas time.
In said commercial, little boy wakes up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve to find Daddy chowing down on SANTA'S cookies. Little boy's face crinkles up and he starts to admonish Daddy for eating Santa's cookies and is showing no sign of ceasing the tirade. Daddy, being the good, prepared, stocked in dry cookie mix father that he is, takes little boy into the kitchen to make a whole new batch of sugar cookies complete with sprinkles.
Flash back to reality - we are fortunate enough in our family to have a wonderfully satisfied with the status quo nine year old. He is in no hurry to find out the truth behind school yard rumblings that Santa may not be all that he is cracked up to be. Instead he goes with the flow of Santa and dutifully caves in when threatened with Santa leaving him a lump of coal instead of gifts. After laughing my rear off once again on Christmas Eve about that the aforementioned commercial, I made absolutely sure Brandon waited till both boys were sound asleep before he did Santa duty by leaving true proof that the big guy had visited our boys.
Luckily, once Bryan is asleep, a small natural disaster would have to occur to wake him up. Joshua may wake up in the middle of the night, but most of the time it is only to wander from one bed to another. And even if he did catch Daddy having a "bite" of Santa's snack, Joshua is big into sharing, especially food... :) This is the reason that the bad pic of cookies and milk brings a smile to my face!
P.S. - Notice the lovely bald spot on my poor Christmas tree? Just so you know - a blind chimp did not decorate it. The bald spot would be care of my ever-busy, into everything, let me see if this christmas ornament airplane can fly baby Joshua....
