Christmas Portraits

I tried to do this year's Christmas photos using Christmas lights - hoping that they would be pretty, blurry little orbs in the background.  It was harder than I thought it would be.  Just hanging the lights was a chore and extremely frustrating.  If I had had more time, I would have tried a couple of more ideas, but I was rushed for time.   I still like the ones below even though they aren't what I had envisioned.



This one was just a test shot (hence the messy background), but it is my favorite one of Bryan.  I love the shadow on the left side, I love how bright and open his eyes are.









Another test shot that I love.  Isn't that funny?  The ones that were accidentally my faves.  Look at those eyes!

Snow Flakes in TX

We woke up this morning to fluffy, white snow everywhere. The biggest snowflakes I've ever seen were falling from the heavens. It is just beautiful out there. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my house?? This shot totally cracks me up - Joshua on the receiving end of a massive snow ball from his big brother!! Joshua stuffing what's left of our broken flag pole... Just playing it cool until he could sneak up behind Bryan with that snowball. Not entirely sure, but I think he was taste testing that snow... Final Part 4 - H Fam

What?  I'm supposed to narrow down the number of photos?  Ha!  I'm terrible at doing that.  I really loved so many of these shots.  They capture the love, silliness, beauty of this family completely.  I had soooo much fun taking these photos.  Lots of laughter and fake Glamour Shot poses.  LOL!  I adore these 3 people and they mean more than they know to my family.  I'm completely honored that they asked me to take some family photos of them.  💗

First Day of 1st Grade

Bryan has been in school for 3 weeks now. He is having a great time in first grade and doing pretty well. He is loving the fact that he is a "veteran" student and knows his way around and what is expected of him. First Grade comes with a LOT of homework and tests and we've all come to realize that it is going to require a lot more effort on all of our parts to keep him ahead of the pack. They have mixed up what were the two Kinder. classes, so some of his friends are in his class and some are from the other K class from last year. It's great since he will get to know a lot more kids in his year.
