Christmas Morning

Image
Love this picture of Bryan in awe of the bike that Santa left for him! He FINALLY got a game of his own! Thanks Papi and Grammy! I just thought this pic was kind of neat. Bryan got the time turner from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkiban - he so loves it and is super protective of it! Then there is this one - it makes me laugh! Joshua got a laptop of his very own from Santa complete with mouse!

B-U-R-N O-U-T !!!!

OK, so I am not Supermom/wife/employee/housekeeper! I tried and I am officially wiped out. For some reason (or maybe it was due to the walls closing in on me), I felt that it was necessary to start a major de cluttering/deep cleaning of the house. It sounded good at the time and it may just sound like a stellar idea tomorrow, but right now all I can say is WHAT WAS I THINKING???? OK, I am further along today than I was a week and a half ago. I have de cluttered and purged 3 bathrooms, 1 closet, 1 shelf in each child's closet, my bedroom and gathered enough stuff to fill almost one side of my garage. The Salvation Army is picking it up tomorrow - thank goodness! I should be proud right? However in the process of de cluttering/purging I always get brilliant plans to move this and that and re-organize and stuff like that. So, the gigantic craft closet full of the boys' craft supplies and work books is now in my scrap room after emptying, disassembling it, moving it upstairs by my...

Christmas Eve

Image
I figured that I should share some Christmas photos before it gets to be June... These are my favorite pics from Christmas Eve. I have to say - the only reason the boring, really horribly composed and rushed pic of the cookies the boys left out for Santa is one of my faves is because of a commercial that was running on TV around Christmas time. In said commercial, little boy wakes up in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve to find Daddy chowing down on SANTA'S cookies. Little boy's face crinkles up and he starts to admonish Daddy for eating Santa's cookies and is showing no sign of ceasing the tirade. Daddy, being the good, prepared, stocked in dry cookie mix father that he is, takes little boy into the kitchen to make a whole new batch of sugar cookies complete with sprinkles. Flash back to reality - we are fortunate enough in our family to have a wonderfully satisfied with the status quo nine year old. He is in no hurry to find out the truth behind school yard rumbli...

Global Warming???

What is going on here? It is January for crying out loud! The temperature gaugue on the outside of my house said that it was 81 degrees today. I mean, it is bad enough that Texas has no seasons, but can it not at least settle for a general climate? I get to see no snow, no real changing colors on the foliage.... can it at least be one temperature range? I would even settle for it being in the 70's or 80's for the next 3 months, but it won't be for long - by this weekend it will be in the 40's again and my body won't know what the heck is going on again. Maybe I should move - LOL! I have been offered employment in Pennsylvania, Nevada and Virginia....hmmmm.... No, I would have to file for divorce first. Brandon would never agree to move away from Texas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year's celebration! We didn't go anywhere or do anything (such a shocker!), but we had fun at home spending time together. I let Bryan stay up to ring in the New Year with me, then we turned Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on and fell asleep together - I found it to be a great ending to 2007. I did do my yearly ritual of making a whole list of New Year's resolutions. I have every list I have made since something like 1995! I never complete all of them, but it sure does feel good to cross a couple off. Some excerpts from my list include: 1. Lose weight - that has been on my list for the past 10 years I think. Maybe this is the lucky year. 2. Go to Belgium to visit my folks - this is so getting crossed off. 3. Blog more - as in write more, not just photos. 4. Have a solid bedtime routine with the boys - so tired of the chaos (and it is totally my fault) 5. 1 side gig taking photos for some one - this one might be a challenge....
