No Life Jacket??

Look who is practicing without a life jacket...

Cleaning Up

OK, so it is a week AFTER school started. I admit it - I completely forgot about haircuts before school began. Oh well - they will look HANDSOME on Tuesday when they go back... BEFORE: AFTER: BEFORE: AFTER:

FOURTH GRADE - Day 1

Image
I cannot believe I have a FOURTH grader! He didn't get the teacher he wanted and he insists that all of his friends are in the other 4th grade class, but his first week of school was still a good one. He REALLY likes his teacher - she is young and excited to be teaching! It is completely refreshing! This is also the first year that he has to go to daycare after school and he is pretty excited that 2 of his good friends go to the same daycare that he does. All in all, I think the year looks promising so far.

My Date with Bryan

Image
OK, so I didn't take more than this one single picture of my date with Bryan: I had a good reason though. We were having such a good time that I just didn't think about it. We had Japanese food at Nakamotos, then we went to see The Mummy 3, then we went window shopping all over Firewheel Mall. We even got an early Christmas present for some one. It started raining while we were walking, but we had fun anyway!

Our First Date

Image
Joshua and I had our first ever "official" date this month. Every year before school start Bryan and I go on a date. I always firgured that once Joshua started school, we would also go on an individual date before school started, but this year, he insisted that he have his own date too. We went to the movies to see Star Wars: Clone Wars, then we went to Build-A-Bear (where he built a T-Rex) and then we walked around the little park and fountain area in the mall.

Hormone Therapy

Image
So, Bryan finally started hormone therapy about a month ago. He is currently below the thrid percentile according to his age. His body produces enough hormone, but something just isn't receiving it. So, his endo. recommended him to take part in a study on kids who have Idiopathic Short Stature. He is now going through hormone therapy and will be for the next four years. I am so relieved - I am hoping he will catch up to his peers in height. Right now he is a head to a head and a half shorter than all his friends. It doesn't bother him for the moment, but I think as he reaches his teen years, it may start to affect him. The kit looks like this: Bryan is such a good sport about it! He was not happy at first and questioned my qualifications for administering any kind of injections, but we have made the most of it. It's funny because whenever we have rotated to his left butt cheek, he always yells "LEFT CHEEK, LEFT CHEEK, LEFT CHEEK!!!" ala the Transformers Movie....

Birthday Wishes

Image
Last month was my birthday. I got a beautiful surprise while I was at work from my parents. They send me flowers to the office most years on my birthday and it is hands down what I look forward to most on my birthday. Of course, once again, I had to work late on my birthday - I was quite irritated. This seems to happen quite frequently. I remember one year it fell on a Saturday and my entire dept had to go to work and stay till midnight! What's up??!!! Well, once I got home, my 3 boys were waiting to even eat dinner. We ordered take out and they had gone to get me a card and a cake! It was very sweet! Apparently they were at the store - all 3 of them arguing over which cake to get. In the end they got a Dulce de Leche cheesecake - YUM!
