52 Weeks of Walking - Week 17

Image
So, I am back to this and I did back up to week 17.  I'm still not doing a great job, but I am trucking along.  I figure that I at least walked 4 out of 7 days last week... I'm working on week 18 and so far, it isn't looking good, but I WILL walk today.  I've been sooo busy.  I know I shouldn't use that as an excuse, but by the time we are done with evening activities, I am tired.  I need to figure out a way to fit in at least a small walk earlier in the day so that if I don't get a long walk in, at least I did something.

The fact that this boy pretty much just likes to make me happy makes me happy.  LOL!  We were having a mini-spa moment after a kind of stressful day.

This time of year makes me happy (except for the allergies part).  The grass is green, it isn't too hot and I can enjoy walks with Shorty and A during daylight hours.

Ah...the site of my child studying for the AP Human Geography exam.  That makes me happy.

This photo makes me smile.  It's totally out of focus, but it shows the chaos, love and happiness.  We've been together for 18 years and I love him more now than ever and what makes me really happy is that our boys know and see that every day.

What?  Shorty decided to wash AND fold all the laundry this weekend.  It makes me happy that when my kids leave home one day, they will know how to take care of themselves.  :)

OK - this makes me super happy.  I wish I had one of Little B doing the same thing, but he disappeared to read his "secret mission".  B and I were feeling like rock star parents this weekend since we invented a spy game to play with the boys that will get them reading, doing research on other states and countries, trying new foods, etc.  I was worried that they would think it was totally cheesy, but they were totally on-board from the moment they received their first post card in the mail.

The idea that we can garden makes me happy!  LOL!  The reality is that we're really bad at it.  However, we're trying again.  We're spending time outside together and that is worth the price of some flowers that may or may not live...

A second unexpected flower delivery recently!  The guys from the rotary club sent me flowers after hanging out with them at the HOA meeting to get people to subscribe to their flag program.  Super sweet and a total surprise!

This just made me laugh!  Sumo wrestling at the carnival.  Neither one of them could move well in those suits!

The fact that this child loves most fruit and veggies makes me happy!  Would he wait for me for 5 minutes to cut that pineapple?  Nope - he wanted to try it!  Thank to grandma and grandpa for the fruit of the month club - makes Shorty SUPER happy!

Another reason I totally admire my son: He is so sweet, gracious, helpful and polite - even while he lets rejection and at times, even down-right rudeness roll off his back while selling camp cards. Seriously, even while 2 different people railed at him about political views (while I understand and appreciate their convictions, my teenager has no say in BSA policies), he smiled and said "that's OK, have a great day!" He is such a good person.

Oh my gosh!  This makes me happy.  A hard earned win and the cutest smile from the most adorable ball player in the world (at least in my opinion)!

Being willing and able to take a walk to the park, play catch and still walk home with my little guy makes me very happy!  At one point in time, I would not have been willing to walk.

Good friends are hard to come by and although T and W aren't friends that I get to see in person very often, I do value their friendship.  The flowers they sent for hosting our scrap weekend definitely made me happy.

New discoveries.  Who knew we could successfully have a mini scrap retreat in my home and everyone would be happy in the end.  It worked out beautifully.  I didn't feel like I worked my way through the weekend and they weren't distracted by family being there and my family wasn't upset at the limitations of my attention.  I still love the cabin, but it's nice to know we have an alternative.  Bonus:  I don't have to pack!  :)

100 Days of Happiness - Day 20

I made these for me and my 2 scrapping buddies and Shorty of course (he loves fruit).  Fruit and Sprite or white grape juice.  Yummy!

100 Days of Happiness - Day 19

I love baseball uniforms!  Shorty all of the sudden looks tiny when he puts his uniform on.

100 Days of Happiness - Day 18

Hair cuts make me super happy!  Shorty was wanting his to stay long until he realized how hot he was getting with all that long hair while playing baseball!  Yay for sweat!

100 Days of Happiness - Day 17

This makes me very happy!  I love that Shorty wants to practice so much and that B wants to help him as much as he can.

My boy selling camp cards makes me happy.  Although Exxon isn't a great place to sell.

This was March 29th - Brandon and I were at the church at the crack of dawn to unlock it for the day's services.  That's right ladies and gentlemen... that is a smile on the face of the NON-morning husband of mine!

Incongruous

I never follow through with anything.  At this particular moment in time, I can't think of anything I've ever started and completely finished.  I was going to say re-doing my scrap room, but nope.  I still have a clock to hang up.  I think I may have finished the scrapbook of Little B and my trip to Belgium. Maybe.  I should check.  Oh wait!  I did finish the Smash Book of our trip to the Petrified Forest, Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde.  Score!  One thing. Boys' bathroom - never finished painting leaves on the vines. The kitchen - never finished painting the garden window or hanging the clock up in there. Scrap room - need to hang a clock. 52 weeks of walking - kind of stalled around the holidays and have had a heck of a time getting back on that train. 100 Days of Happiness - No posts past day 14. Rosary business - I don't even know why I never followed through with that.  Had the business license, filed my business name, bought the initial supplies, researched w
