Father's Day - 2012

Image
We went over to Grandma's and Grandpa's house for Father's Day.  We gave Brandon his Father's Day gift a little early.  He was way happy that we bought him Seasons 1-5 of The Big Band Theory.  We've been watching it almost every night since then.  That's right - I actually let him take a pic of me.  Proof that we like each other...  ;) Every time I turn around he looks older to me and I live with him.  Sometimes I wish I could have a re-do and start over with him as a baby. Grandpa opening all of his cards.  The boys like cute and Brandon and I think Brett too, like the funny ones. Uncle Brett and Danger watching Grandpa open his cards and presents. Daisy and Grandma showing off Daisy's new dress.  Cracks me up!  She's such a little princess. Brett and Brandon went together earlier in the week to buy their dad a new lawn mower since his was on its last leg.  Brandon stashed it in our garage until Father

Trying

I've been trying hard lately to be more engaged in my life.  I probably could have chosen a better time of the year to start this since I really hate the heat and of course there are so many outdoor type of activities this time of year.  I tend to feel sick after being in the heat for too long.  The point is - I feel like I'm becoming somewhat of a hermit.  I hate that!  I'm a social person, but I find myself not wanting to be bothered with any of it in recent years.  The broken arm didn't help and neither does being married to someone who is totally NOT a social person.  I just want to be the happy person I used to be.  The reality is that I'll probably have to find a bit of a middle ground both for Brandon's sake and because I'm just not the same as I used to be.  Some recent events had me questioning some of what I have always considered my better personality traits.  I thought that maybe I was even offending people by wanting to help.  Maybe I am.  If

The Dallas Zoo

We renewed our family membership and took the boys to the zoo a couple of weeks ago.  We just love going to the zoo and it's so nice that we don't feel like we have to see EVERYTHING all in one day.  I'm planning on taking the boys again soon and just hanging out in the kids area for awhile.  I do have this sinking feeling that the zoo isn't as entertaining as it used to be for Bryan.  NOOOOOO!!  Stop acting like a teenager - I don't want him to grow up! I did some major bribing to get Brandon to climb up on the elephant with the boys for this shot.  LOL!  It was also quite comical to see me trying to hold my camera with one hand while trying to shove Bryan's little butt up there too.  Ahhh - what I'll do to get the photo I want. I don't really know what he was doing here?  Whistling maybe?  He got a kick out of me getting on there too just to get this shot.  BTW - The Family Passport membership is totally worth it. This is a typica
